FINALLY!!! I fixed the overheating problem on my MR2!!! I've been grappling with this problem since I swapped in the 20v Blacktop 4AGE a year ago. The culprit? The radiator was to blame! Put in a new one and she is fixed!

I got up early Sunday morning to take it for a long test drive even though I was freezing my ass off (heater core bypassed, it's worse off than the old radiator). At a balmy 32 degrees it wasn't exactly the most trying conditions for a cooling system test, but before I could only drive it for about 30 minutes before it would overheat even in the cold. After a solid hour and a half of driving including around town, interstate cruising, hilly backroads, and some solid 0-80 mph on-ramp pulls the temp needle didn't budge a millimeter from the proper operating temp.

Then mother nature dumps snow everywhere and I don't have a good set of winter tires for the MR2... so I'm driving the truck today (-_-)

Sometimes I question why I left Florida

Ain't that a sonofabitch. Glad you got it fixed though. If you're anywhere in the northeast snowpocalyose area, you're probably better off in the truck. Ground clearance.

That sucks, but great that you got it fixed! Was it just corrosion clogging the fins?
